Mangerton is the hillside suburb immediately south west of the Wollongong city centre, known for its older homes, period cottages and streets with long views over the harbour. Rentals are a mix of character houses, renovated homes and a handful of flats.
Period houses set up their own inspection problems. Timber sash windows with deep sills, picture rails, high skirting boards and original bathrooms all take time that a modern unit does not. Renovated homes in the same streets go the other way, with a higher finish standard and agents who expect it returned unmarked.
What a Mangerton bond clean covers
The scope follows standard agent checklists rather than a promise about your bond:
- Oven, cooktop, rangehood and splashback degreased
- Cupboards, drawers and bench tops cleaned
- Bathrooms descaled, screens, grout and tapware scrubbed
- Timber sills, deep window reveals, tracks and screens
- Picture rails, high skirting boards and cornices dusted
- Walls spot cleaned, light fittings and fans dusted
- Floors vacuumed and mopped throughout
Quotes are built on size and condition rather than a flat rate. Period homes take longer than their bedroom count suggests, so describe the house rather than just the number of rooms. Treat any figure as guide pricing only and see our bond cleaning cost guide for typical ranges.
Need more than the standard scope? Add carpet steam cleaning, a deeper oven and kitchen clean, or book a last minute bond clean if your inspection is close. Full details of the base service are on our end of lease cleaning page.
We also cover nearby Wollongong, Coniston and Figtree.
Frequently asked questions
Our rental has original timber floors. How are they handled?
Vacuumed and damp mopped with a product suited to sealed timber rather than flooded with water. Tell the cleaner what the floors are when you request a quote.
Are picture rails and cornices really checked?
Dust on high surfaces is a routine exit checklist item, and in older homes there are more of them. They are included rather than treated as extras.
Does a bond clean guarantee I get my bond back?
No cleaner can promise that, and you should be wary of any who do. The bond also covers damage and unpaid rent. The cleans follow standard agent checklists, which is what your property manager inspects against.
